Growing Archery Across Zambia
The Archery Association of Zambia (AAZ) is the national governing association for archery in Zambia, bringing together clubs and archers to develop, organise and promote the sport.

The Archery Association of Zambia (AAZ) is the governing association for archery in Zambia. AAZ works with affiliated archery clubs, individual archers and partners to develop the sport and create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate, train and compete. AAZ is affiliated with and works under the National Sports Council of Zambia, providing a national framework for the development, organisation and regulation of archery.
From introducing newcomers to the sport to supporting athletes competing at national and international level, AAZ works to build a stronger and more active archery community throughout Zambia.

ARCHERY IN ZAMBIA
From a small community to a growing sport.
Archery in Zambia has developed steadily over the years, with clubs and archers contributing to the growth of the sport across the country.
A significant early achievement came in 2001, when an eight-member Zambian team finished second at the African Field Archery Championships in Namibia, winning multiple gold medals and setting records.
Following a quieter period, the sport began to gain renewed momentum with the reopening of the Lusaka Archery Club in 2014 and the establishment of the Mkushi Archery Club.
The development of field and 3D archery, together with regular indoor and league shoots, has helped introduce archery to a wider community of participants.
Today, AAZ works with affiliated clubs and archers across Zambia, supporting activities ranging from introductory training and club shoots to regional, national and international competition.

AFFILIATION & MEMBERSHIP
How AAZ Membership Works
AAZ membership operates at both club and individual level.
Most archers join AAZ through an affiliated archery club, where they pay the relevant club membership fees. Archers who wish to compete in AAZ-sanctioned national events or represent Zambia on the international stage must also hold individual AAZ membership.
Club membership and individual AAZ membership are separate.
An archer’s membership of their local club does not replace individual AAZ membership where AAZ membership is required for national competition.
