THE EVENT
Two Days. 56 Targets. One Challenging Course.
The AAZ Field Nationals bring Zambia’s archers together for two days of challenging field archery at the Lusaka Archery Club’s Long Wait Farm range.
Set within a private game reserve, the course offers a distinctly African archery experience. Archers navigate a varied natural environment while tackling 56 targets across two days of competition.
And if the course isn’t challenging enough, there’s always the “60-yard Arrow Killer.”
THE COURSE
Archery in the African Bush.
Long Wait Farm offers a setting unlike a conventional archery range.
The course moves through a combination of open ground, thick lantana bush and rugged, mountainous terrain, creating constantly changing shooting conditions and demanding archers adapt to their surroundings.
Because the range is situated within a private game reserve, competitors may also encounter Impala, Puku, Bushbuck and Sable Antelope during their time on the course.
It’s field archery with a distinctly Zambian character.
TARGETS
IFAA-Approved Targets.
All targets used for the competition are IFAA-approved and sourced from South Africa.
The competition will include:
Field faces
Hunter faces
Animal faces
The Long Wait Farm range has previously been approved by IFAA inspectors and has subsequently been improved in accordance with their recommendations.

AFFILIATION & MEMBERSHIP
How AAZ Membership Works
AAZ membership operates at both club and individual level.
Most archers join AAZ through an affiliated archery club, where they pay the relevant club membership fees. Archers who wish to compete in AAZ-sanctioned national events or represent Zambia on the international stage must also hold individual AAZ membership.
Club membership and individual AAZ membership are separate.
An archer’s membership of their local club does not replace individual AAZ membership where AAZ membership is required for national competition.
